Our hope is that this monthly installment of “Around the office” finds you and your family Healthy & Happy.
We understand that the pandemic has left most of us feeling anxious and isolated. We’re trying finding ways to cope with our altered routines.
Since this month is Mental Health awareness Month, I found an interesting “toolkit” on the Mental Health America website; mhanational.org/self-help-tools.
In reviewing the resources provided on this site, I was struck by the power that humor has which can help us deal with difficult experiences, both from an emotional and physical standpoint.
Laughter has been proven to reduce the risk of developing chronic health conditions, strengthens our immune system, improves our mood, and provides anxiety relief.
With “social distancing” we are learning alternative ways to fight anxiety and still maintain the power of human connection.
To help compensate, many of us have already turned to the internet for virtual “happy hours”, and friend/family gatherings from afar.
The internet is also an endless source of humorous content like YouTube videos (funny pet videos are my favorite), blogs, and memes to help us laugh and smile.
Other sources of humor include TV shows, movies, and stand-up comedy – Sebastian Maniscalco is a fan favorite.
At home, we have rediscovered game nights. Even better, it’s been fun to just pick up the phone and reach out to someone who gets my sense of humor.
We feel that you (our clients) are our extended family.
We are in this together with you.
We may not have the best jokes to offer, but we are here to answer any questions you may have regarding your financial goals or the markets.
We look forward to sharing a laugh, a joke, or a funny story together soon.
In the meantime, if you find something funny online or have a favorite joke, please share it with us.
Laughter is the best medicine.
